PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval system which generates a retrieval key by using a video or audio signal and retrieves relative information according to it. SOLUTION: This device consists of a retrieval key extracting device 2 which extracts a retrieval key from an inputted audio or video signal, an indicating device 26 which selects a key word out of extracted keys and sends a retrieval request, an information retrieval engine 4 which performs information retrieval according to the key word, and a controller 23 which outputs the retrieval- requested key word from the indicating device to the information retrieval engine and outputs retrieved information from the information retrieval engine to a monitor device 5. Further, the device is provided with an information extracting device 28 which saves retrieval history information in an information storage device 17 and analyzes the retrieval history information. This information retrieval device eliminates the need for trouble for input, enables easy information retrieval, and performs proper information retrieval according to users. |
