PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce distortion due to occurrence of an error and display of an unnatural image in the case of decoding and displaying a coded video image from a remote place. SOLUTION: This video display method employs a means 180 that classifies each video frame into a plurality of groups depending on the property of a received video source and a degree of a transmission error, a means 120 that discriminates whether or not decoding of each video frame is normally processed, and a means 130 that generates a video image to be displayed newly by using a decoded video image already displayed or a predetermined specific video image or the like in a frame buffer as to a group whose video decoding cannot normally be processed based on the grounding of the video frames.
