PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an effect due to dispersion in a basic oscillated wavelength of a semiconductor laser by forming plural optical waveguides on an optical wavelength conversion element, changing the widths, the polarization inversion periods of the optical waveguides and changing a phase matching wavelength. SOLUTION: Plural optical waveguides 10 are formed on a sheet of optical wavelength conversion element 11, and the widths, polarization inversion periods of respective optical waveguides 10 are changed, and the phase matching wavelength is changed. By changing the width of the optical waveguide 10, an effective refractive index in the optical waveguide 10 is changed, and the phase matching wavelength of the optical waveguide 10 is changed delicately. When the width of the optical waveguide 10 is enlarged by 0.5 μm. the phase matching wavelength becomes short by 0.5 nm. In such a manner, by changing the width of the optical waveguide 10, the phase matching wavelength is adjusted continuously (a). Further, by gradually changing the optical waveguide width, polarization inversion period, the phase matching wavelength is adjusted continuously and extensively (b). |
