PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probability generator with which a completely random pulse is generated and any illegal action is prevented by utilizing the random phenomenon of nuclear decay. SOLUTION: A random pulse 7 is generated by detecting particles radiated at random from a radiation source with the same dosage level as environmental radiations through a PIN diode 2. On the other hand, a clock pulse generator 9 generates a time reference pulse with a period higher than the discharge time intervals of radiated particles. This reference pulse and the detected pulse 7 are inputted to a time measuring instrument 8, and the generation time interval of detected pulses is extracted as the number of time reference pulses. By utilizing the fact that the frequency distribution of the time intervals of detected pulses is an exponential function, an arbitrary stochastic value is generated and this stochastic value is used as a required stochastic value for a game machine or the like. |
