摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the abnormally high temperature of opening end sections which are the air discharge ports of cylindrical cells for a solid electrolyte fuel cell, to effectively reduce the excessive thermal stress applied to the opening end sections and to prevent their breakage. SOLUTION: This fuel cell is provided with cylindrical cells 2 having air electrodes, solid electrolytes and fuel electrodes laminated into a multi-layer cylindrical shape and having opening ends 2a at one end and partition members 20 fixed on the opening end 2a side of the cylindrical cells 2 and partitioning combustion chambers 5 where the air discharged from the opening ends 2a and the unreacted fuel gas are burned and reaction chambers 15 filled with the fuel gas. Each partition member 20 is provided with a vent hole 20b feeding the fuel gas to the combustion chamber 5 from the reaction chamber 15, and the opening end 2a is located deeply on the reaction chamber 15 side of the partition member 20.
