PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a conductive metal strip, used as the starting product to produce a plug contact element, which can realize high hardness with small layer surface roughness starting from an engineering level and characterizes the plug contact element produced from the strip featuring in small insertion and extraction force. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a conductive metal strip to produce a plug contact element, its process is so designed that a starting strip 2 formed of copper or copper alloy having a large original thickness DA compared with a final thickness DE is prepared and at that time, the starting strip 2 has a layer 3 formed of tin or tin alloy and then, rolling deformation involving the reduction of the strip thickness down to a finish thickness D2 is carried out. |
