The vehicle seat is constructed on a rigid frame, with two lateral side cheeks (18) and is fitted on a lifting mechanism, which consists of a connecting rod (9), which is mounted pivotally relative to the floor of the vehicle. The connecting rod is fixed to the transverse tube (10), which has its ends (16) mounted to pivot on each of the side cheeks. The tube passes through the notched holes (12) in the connecting rod and is secured by two folds (14) of the tube, on either side of the connecting rod.
