PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide color filters which have columnar projecting parts for setting the thickness of a liquid crystal layer and enable the production of color liquid crystal display devices having excellent display quality and a process for producing the color filters. SOLUTION: The color filters 1 are formed to have a transparent protective layer 6 covering at least coloring layers 5 and the transparent columnar projecting parts 7 contg. photodepolymerizable resins formed to the plural prescribed sections on a substrate. Such color filters are produced by forming the coloring layers consisting of plural colors with prescribed patterns on the substrate, then forming a transparent photosensitive layer on the substrate 2 so as to cover the coloring layers 5 by a transparent photosensitive compsn. contg. at least a binder resin, the photodepolymerizable resin and a photoacid generating agent as a first stage, exposing the transparent photosensitive layer via a photomask having the prescribed patterns as a second stage and dry developing the transparent photosensitive layer by heating as a third stage. |
