PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the incident angle of light from a light source side to a light transmission plate small, to reduce light loss and to prevent the lowering of luminance by making the shape of a reflector making the light from the light source incident on the side surface of the light transmission plate so that the incident angle of the light made incident on the light transmission plate may be a specified angle. SOLUTION: The light source 1 and the reflector 2 are arranged on one side surface 3b of the light transmission plate 3, and a reflecting plate 4 is disposed along the lower surface of the plate 3, a prism sheet 5 is disposed along the upper surface thereof, and a diffusion plate 6 is disposed on the upper surface of the sheet 5 on the side of a liquid crystal display device. The reflector 2 is provided with a slit-like aperture part which is opposed to the surface 3b of the plate 3. The aperture part is successively extended from the entrance of the aperture part on the light source 1 side to the exit of the aperture part on the plate 3 side and is formed so that the incident angle of most of the light from the light source 1 which is made incident on the plate 3 may be small. Namely, the reflector 2 is formed so that the incident angle of >=70% of the light from the light source 1 may be <=48 deg.. |
