PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain an excellent image by suppressing the occurrence of the bias of a developer in first and second carrying parts, in a developing device for supplying the developer to a developer carrier, while circulating the developer between the first and second carrying parts, so as to attain development. SOLUTION: In the device, the developer is carried to an image carrier 1 by the developer carrier 11, to attain the development. In such a case, the first carrying part 13a for supplying the developer to the developer carrier 11 and recovering the developer after the development from the developer carrier is provided so as to face the developer carrier 11, the second carrying part 13b is provided in a part nearer to the downstream side in the moving direction of the developer carrier 11 from the first carrying part 13a, through a partition 14 and the first carrying part 13a and in the first and second carrying parts 13a and 13b, the developer is carried in an opposite direction in the axial direction of the carrier 11. Then, the developer is circulated through a circulating port provided in the partition 14 and the regulating part 17 for regulating the quantity of the developer held on the carrier 11 is provided in the partition 14. |
