PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove an excess carrier fluid from the surface of an image after being developed with a liquid, in a method and device for copying the image after being developed with a liquid developer. SOLUTION: The device for removing an excess liquid from a liquid supporting member is constituted of an absorbing member 56 positioned to relatively move with respect to the liquid supporting member 12, at least one guide for making the liquid supporting member 12 and the absorbing member 56 into a compatible contact state with each other by force mainly exerted with the vacuum of an inner core 206, to form a contact part by the compatible contact state, so that a relative movement with the absorbing member 56 is attained and a fixing device for holding the liquid supporting member 12 and the absorbing member 56 in a nonsliding relation, to draw the liquid from the supporting member 12 and absorb the liquid by the absorbing member 56. This absorbing member 56 has a porous outside surface 208 being compatible with the circumference of the inner core 206, it is in a vacuum state and the level of the vacuum is lower than that of the capillarity pressure of the porous outside surface 208. |
