PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle apparatus for a position measuring system having a means for obtaining a position of a vehicle traveling on a road and a traveling locus with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A position measuring apparatus 100 carried on a vehicle 12 comprises a photoreceiver 1 for receiving a light beacon signal including position information from a vehicle sensing and communicating unit 13 installed on a road, a position receiver 2 for taking out the position information from a received signal, and autonomous travel detector 5 for detecting an autonomously traveled moving direction and distance, a memory 6 for storing a road map, a position deciding unit 4 for calculating a present position of the vehicle at this time point according to the position information and the autonomously traveled moving direction and a distance information, for reading the map stored in the memory 6 and for specifying the present position on the read map, and a display unit 7 for displaying the map and the specified spot by superposing them by a predetermined symbol. |
