PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid missing of a message and a program information or the like from a broadcast station and to reduce power consumption. SOLUTION: A television receiver 10 is provided with a digital broadcast receiver 12 and a ground wave broadcast receiver 14. With a main power supply of the receiver main body turned off, a switch SW2 is intermittently turned on 7 off. Thus, power is supplied from a power supply circuit 42 to the digital broadcast receiver 12 intermittently. The off-state of the main power supply is referred to as an off-state of a switch circuit 44 and the switch SW2, with a TV microcomputer 36 only energized. However, in the case of setting a new contract mode, the digital broadcast receiver is set to an on-state for one week after the mode setting.
