PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel satellite broadcast receiver that attains accurate program search playing in the case of recording a digital audio interface DAI output of the satellite broadcast receiver and of reproducing the recording after program-search. SOLUTION: A PCM decoder 13 decodes a bit stream signal outputted from a demodulator 12 of the satellite broadcast receiver 1 and the decoded digital audio signal is given to a sample rate converter 15. The sample rate converter 15 converts the sampling frequency of the digital audio signal from 48 kHz or 32 kHz into 44.1 kHz the same frequency as a CD. A DAI transmitter 17 inserts user bits to a sample word of a DAI frame of the received digital audio signal whose frequency is converted into 44.1 kHz at a bit to produce a DAI signal and it is fed to a digital recorder 2.
