PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photochromic plastic lens having high durability and high photochromic performance at a low cost with high productivity by treating the surface of a plastic lens base body to give permeability and depositing a photochromic material thereon to permeate. SOLUTION: The surface of a plastic lens base body is treated to give permeability. A photochromic material is deposited on the base body after the treatment to allow the photochromic material to permeate. The surface where the photochromic material is to be deposited is made porous to improve the permeability for the photochromic material. The surface where the photochromic material is to be deposited means the surface of a plastic lens base body or surfaces of a primer layer or a hard coating layer formed on the base body. As for the depositing method of the photochromic material, vapor deposition or vacuum vapor deposition is preferably used. Otherwise, a dry process such as sputtering and CVD can be used. |
