PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical device which has temperature-compensated optical waveguides. SOLUTION: This device has a core area having a 1st part 14 and a 2nd part 20 which is provided with plural optical waveguides and at least one of them is connected in series, and the core area is surrounded with a clad layer 16; and the 1st part 14 of the core area has 1st length formed from a material whose refractive index increases as temperature rises and the 2nd part 20 of the core area has 2nd length formed from a material whose refractive index decreases as temperature rises. |
