摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a manufacturing method of armature which can surely stably restrain the deviation in axial direction position of an upper layer coil end portion which forms commentator. SOLUTION: After all the lower layer coil conductors and upper layer coil conductors have been built an armature core 3, an engaging part is formed by using a working jig 10, on the axial direction one end side (commentator side). The outer diameter part of an outside insulator 7 is clamped between the engaging part and one upper layer coil end portion 5b. For the working jig 10, tip is made to abut against the outside diameter surface of the upper layer coil edge 5a, on the coil end portion 5b side opposite the outside insulator of the upper layer coil edge 5a, and the shaft core of the working jig 10 is arranged in the attitude inclined by a specified angleθ1 with respect to the upper layer coil edge 5a. After that, a specified load P is applied to the working jig 10, and both side portions of the upper layer coil edge 5a in the width direction are subjected to plastic deformation working. Thereby engaging parts are formed by plastic deformation, in both side portions of the upper layer coil edge 5a in the width direction.
