PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize zooming at optional magnification in/out a subject at an optional position on an image plane without deteriorating image quality nor changing the direction of an image pickup device main body, to widen video expression and to improve economicity. SOLUTION: This image pickup device is provided with a variable apex angle prism system 101 equipped with a variable apex angle prism 10 disposed on the optical axis of a photographing lens 102, a position designating device 107 designating the optional position on the image plane, and a microcomputer 106 controlling so that the apex angle of the prism 10 may be gradually changed toward the subject at the optional position on the image plane designated by the device 107 interlocked with the zooming operation of the lens 102. |
