A surface-active lubricant composition derived from sunflower oil having an oleic acid content above 80 mole% is claimed, in which X mole% of the fatty acid residues are in the form of monoesters, M mole% are in the form of monoglycerides, D mole% are in the form of diglycerides and T mole% are in the form of triglycerides, where X > M, X > D, X > T, T M and T D. X is at least equal to M+D+T. X is above 50, preferably 52-57. T is 10 or less. M is greater than D, preferably approximately 2D. |
