PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image defect caused by the change of paper carrying speed by always more accurately and stably restraining the change of the paper carrying speed by a fixing roll caused by the temperature change of the fixing roll and the difference of the kind (thickness or surface state) of the paper without being influenced by the content of the main cause of the change. SOLUTION: This device is provided with detection means 20 and 21 detecting the carrying sped of the paper held and carried by the nip part of the fixing rolls 2 and 3, and a speed correction means 30 comparing the paper carrying speed E obtained by the detection means 20 and 21 with the normal speed V of the fixing rotating body and correcting the rotating speed V of the fixing roll so that a difference between the speed E and the speed V may be canceled. Thus, the speed E of the paper carried by the fixing rolls 2 and 3 is actually (directly) detected and the speed of the fixing roll is corrected based on the detected information, so that the change of the speed E is accurately restrained. |
