PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a word by simple operation without regard to the form of the word by displaying the contents of an equivalent corresponding to an original form through a collating means when the selected word is in an inflected form. SOLUTION: A signal from an inputting means 11 is temporarily scored in RAM 13 connected to CPU 12. A display device 16 is connected to CPU 12 and characters inputted from the means 11, namely contents temporarily stored in RAM 13, are displayed on the picture of the display device 16. At this displayed picture, the contents of the equivalent of the picture is displayed by a selection key 17, which includes a mark key, a jump key, a scroll key and an equivalent key. The operation signal of the jump key is read by CPU 12 and the selected word is collated by an original form inflecting table 15 within ROM 14 functioning as the collating means. When the word is in an inflected form, the original-form word and the contents of an equivalent corresponding to the original-form word are displayed on the picture of the display device 16. |
