A damping plate has damping areas between first and second ring-shaped friction members (31, 32), axially displaced with respect to one another and to the clutch plate arrangement. At least one of the core plates (33, 34) has an engagement area (47a, 47b) which engages the damping areas. Preferably at least one of the damping areas has an opening (43a, 43b) in which the engagement area fits as a projection.
