A rod-form element (7) is installed in the region of the front bumper (4) and extends far enough upwards so that its upper portion (17) lies within the field of vision of the driver. One rod-form element may be fitted in the middle of the bumper, or two or more rod-form elements (8,9) may be fitted to the end portions of the bumper. The elements can be fitted in and removed from holders in the bumper, and are telescopically extendable. An electric motor is provided for operation of the rod-form element.
