The domestic clothes dryer has a system to detect a reduced volume in the flow of drying air. The drying air is passed through a channel (6) where a sensor (17) measures the air flow throughput and/or a back-up pressure on a diminished volume flow. An optical and/or acoustic display (21) is operated pneumatically, or by an electric circuit, by the sensor (17).
