The switching rail (41) can be swivelled by a cam gear in the manner of a Maltese cross having a driven pin disk (34) oriented transversely to the transport direction and which engages with a pin (35) a slot (36) in a slotted disk (37). A connection rod (40) is mounted on the slotted disk (37) for converting the rotary movement of the slotted disk (37) into an up and down movement of the switching rail (41).
