<p>Sulfonated derivatives of cyclic phenol sulfides represented by general formula (1) or salts thereof; compositions for the separation and recovery of organohalogen compounds or monocyclic aromatic compounds, each comprising a cyclic phenol sulfide or a salt thereof and a carrier; and drug compositions each comprising a cyclic phenol sulfide or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmacologically acceptable carrier. In formula (1), X is hydrogen, a hydrocarbon group or acyl; M is hydrogen, alkyl, metal, ammonium, lower alkyl-ammonium, lower alkanolammonium, a nitrogenous heterocyclic group or an amino acid residue; Z is Sm, SO or SO2; m is an integer of 1 to 7; and n is an integer of 4 to 12, provided that X's, M's and Z's may be each the same or different, with at least one M being neither hydrogen nor alkyl.</p> |
