The invention concerns a method for preparing an aqueous pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) emulsion with significantly increased shearing resistance, characterised in that it consists, while polymerising into radical aqueous emulsion monomers comprising at least 60 % of styrene and/or butadiene and/or (meth)acrylic esters and/or vinyl esters and/or vinyl nitriles, in using at least an emulsifier consisting of at least a non-ionic or an anionic fatty alcohol derivative, linear or branched, polyalkoxylated. The invention also concerns the use of an emulsifier as defined above for preparing PSA.
