<p>A magnetic recording medium comprising a nonmagnetic base, a nonmagnetic interlayer 0.5-2.5 mu m thick formed on at least one side of the base, and a magnetic layer 0.05-0.5 mu m thick formed on the interlayer, the magnetic layer consisting essentially of a ferromagnetic powder and a binder, characterized in that the interlayer contains a carbon black having a mean primary particle diameter of 25-40 nm, specific surface area of 50-80 m<2>/g, and DBP oil absorption of 40-55 cc/100 g.</p> |
