Oriented polyolefin film with amorphous polymer, process of preparation and use thereof

Oriented polyolefin film (I) has at least one vacuole-contg. layer (A) which contains an amorphous, vacuole-initiating polymer (II) which is present as separate particles in the vacuoles after orientation. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of non-transparent film (I) contg. amorphous polymer (II), by compressing and heating the film-forming polymer (mixt.) in an extruder, extruding the melt through a sheet die at a temp. above the Tg of (II), drawing off over roller(s), orienting so as to produce vacuoles, opt. heat-fixing and opt. subjecting to surface treatment.
