Coated bleach tablet and dispensing method

The invention is directed to a coated solid active bleach tablet which provides reduced swelling upon contact with water as well as reduced odor and dusting. Active bleach sources suitable for a coated bleach tablet of the invention include active halogen and oxygen bleaches. Suitable coatings include water soluble organic and inorganic materials. The coated bleach tablets are particularly beneficial for continuous advancement in known solid dispenser systems.
