<p>A user-friendly exercise machine which offers great flexibility in the forward and upward movements of the foot comprises a base frame, two movable foot-links with foot-plates which follow oval orbital paths 180 DEG out of phase with each other, and a crank mechanism to define the shape of the oval orbital paths. The machine is characterised by the crank mechanism operating through two separate linkages for each of the foot-links, the first linkage providing at least the greater part of the up and down motion of the foot-link and the second linkage providing at least the greater part of the fore and aft motion. The machine is adjustable to match the natural movements of the user, the configuration and settings of the two linkages being capable of being chosen independently.</p> |
