Inorganic felt-based substrates for soilless cultivation, consisting of a multilayer mineral fibre felt in which the layers are at least partially folded in the substrate by carrying out one or more steps of compressing the original felt lengthwise, said felt with partially folded layers being arranged in the substrate so that in use the lengthwise compression direction remains parallel to a horizontal plane corresponding to the ground.
