The leaf (2) of the window is mounted in the fixed frame (1) via two hinging or tilting (3) bearings. Each bearing has one half (24) partly countersunk in the leaf and the other (23) similarly accommodated in the frame. A two-part interchangeable strip (11,12) at each bearing covers the gap between frame and leaf on the indoor side. One part is fixed to the leaf and the other to the frame. The two parts of the strip are of the same length, and the recesses accommodating the bearing halves in the leaf and frame are of the same size and shape. On each bearing half there can be a pin (19) parallel to the place of the leaf and to the hinge axis, for power transmission and to aid assembly. The drillings in leaf and frame to accommodate the pins can be made with the same tools and setting irrespective of the type of bearing.
