PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the entry of external sound into the interior without causing problems of sheet metal pollution and appearance by absorbing the external sound by sponge rubber on the exterior side of a lip, then cutting off the external sound by solid material embedded in the lip, and further absorbing the external sound by sponge constituting the interior side of the lip. SOLUTION: A weatherstrip 3 fitted to a vehicle door 20 has a lip 31 made of sponge rubber and brought into pressure contact with a body panel 10. In this case, solid material 32 formed of material harder than sponge rubber and having sound insulating effect is embedded in the lip 31, in an attitude of cutting off the interior from the exterior so as to reduce entry of external sound into the interior without causing problems of sheet metal pollution and appearance. The solid material 32 is formed of unvulcanized rubber, rubber with metal powder mixed in unvulcanized rubber, resin, or resin with a metal film vapor- deposited. |
