Clear filter and method for its regeneration

The invention concerns a clear filter as well as a method for regeneration of its filter element 3. Clear filtration separates the solid particles from a liquid containing small amounts of solid so that a clear filtrate is obtained as a result. During filtration the liquid stream is passed through a cavity on a cylindrical filter element 3 positioned in a container 1 so that the solids remain as a cake on the surface of the element. The cake can be removed through a valve 8 with a wash liquid that is supplied with reverse pressure. The filter also contains an ultrasonic cleaner 7 that removes clogs in the filter element 3, during which the cleaner according to the invention is formed as a ring that surrounds the filter element and during cleaning can be moved in container 1 relative to the wash liquid from the bottom up. Emptying can occur via a valve 12 in the lower part of the container. By moving cleaner 7 the ultrasonic cavitation is directed over the entire surface of filter element 3. Washing of the filter element with reverse pressure can be combined with ultrasonic cleaning. <IMAGE>
