PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil seal with a seal property excellent by improving a holding property of oil between a lip and a shaft. SOLUTION: In an oil seal 1 sealing an annular space between a housing and a shaft assembled mutually concentrically able to relatively rotate, fit mounting a peripheral part in a housing internal periphery and sliding a seal lip tip end part 32 into contact with the shaft in an internal peripheral side, to seal a seal fluid, the seal lip tip end part 32 is formed in a shape 33 into contact almost in wave shape having amplitude in a shaft direction in the case of bringing the tip end part into contact with the shaft. In the case of relatively rotating the housing and the shaft, in a seal part into contact in wave shape, it is sealed while reciprocated by an amplitude component of a wave, and an oil film is always formed in a seal vibration part. A support member may be provided, which supports an opposite seal fluid side surface of a seal lip. The seal lip is supported by the support member, and inverse rotation or the like of the seal lip is prevented. |
