PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording medium which has high resolution and is free from interlayer peeling. SOLUTION: This thermosensitive recording medium has microcavities whose content amounts to 10 cc/100 g or more and at most, 40 cc/100 g in a polyolefin layer used as one of the constituent elements of a support for the thermosenstive recording layer. This polyolefin film layer is preferably composed of a mixture of polyolefin and a substance which is non-compatible with the polyolefin and biaxially stretched.
