PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for evaporation and concentration of water wherein water content is concentrated by evaporation from treated effluent wherein urinary sewage discharged from for example a cattle shed is treated by purification. SOLUTION: A water retention and air permeable material consisting of fiber material which is excellent in water retention and air permeability is piled up to a specific height, water is sprinkled from above the water retention and air permeable material to make the water retention and air permeable material contain sufficiently the water content, and the water content is evaporated by sending air at a specific apparent wind speed from below the water retention and air permeable material which contains the water content. Further, coconut shells 3 consisting of fiber material which is excellent in water retention and air permeability are piled up to a height of 10 to 50 cm, water is sprinkled with a water sprinkler 4 from above the coconut shells 3 to make the coconut shells 3 contain sufficiently the water content, and the water content is evaporated by sending air at a specific apparent wind speed with a blower 11 from below the coconut shells 3 containing the water content.
