<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously produce molten iron having high Si and low S by lowering oxygen partial pressure at the lower part in a furnace in a low fuel ration operation, although conventionally, the oxygen partial pressure at the lower part in the furnace becomes high and the operation has the tendency to produce the molten iron having low Si and high S. SOLUTION: In the operational method, by which iron source and solid fuel are charged into the furnace from the upper part of the vertical furnace 1 having multi-stage tuyeres 9a, 9b in the height direction of the sidewall in the furnace 7 and oxygen-containing gas at room temp. or <=600 deg.C is blasted from the tuyere 9 to execute reduction-melting, a raceway part 10 is formed by blasting only to the lowermost stage tuyere 9a, and the lower part in the furnace is made into CO-rich atmosphere to control the quality of the molten iron.</p> |
