PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve serviceability by setting a checking means for checking a mount state of a printer controller substrate and switching a printing sequence on the basis of the check information in an apparatus for forming multicolor images by developing latent images formed on an image carrier body. SOLUTION: When a power source is turned on, an image formation apparatus 2 is initialized at a printer control circuit 1 and thereafter a printer controller 11 is checked by a mount check means 90. When it is judged that the printer controller is mounted, a reception check for a specific command from the printer controller 11 is executed. After the command is confirmed to be received normally, a printing operation is conducted by a printing sequence control means 83 when a true signal of /PRNT is detected.
