PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound useful as a color developer giving an image excellent in high preservability of an image part, especially oil resistance and resistance to a plasticizer. SOLUTION: This aromatic carboxylic acid compound is a compound expressed by formula I X is NHYHN, OYO (Y is a 2-12C alkylene, xylylene, oxaalkylene, bisoxaalkylene or trioxaalkylene or a group of formula II, etc.)}, and preferably X is NHYHN and two nitro groups are substituted in ortho sites to a carboxylic group or a single bond, e.g. a compound of formula III. The compound the formula I is obtained by reacting a nitrophthalic acid anhydride expressed by formula IV with a compound expressed by the formula: H-X-H. |
