PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine blade or vane equipped with a machining reference portion having the same grade accuracy and reliability as those of an initial manufacturing process and usable in inspection and modification after manufacturing. SOLUTION: A turbine blade 38 of a gas turbine engine comprises a machining reference portion 52 extending radially from the pocket 54 of a blade outside shroud 36. The reference portion is provided apart form the side wall portion 64 of the pocket so as to be independent of surroundings, and has such length as sufficiently functioning as a support mechanism after the chipping-off of its tip portion 62 by finish machining. Thereby, the reference portion can be used as a reference point and the support mechanism in inspection and repairing work after the manufacturing, and the same grade accuracy and reliability as those of the manufacturing process can be obtained in these processes.
