PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain operability comparable to a fixed type link structure, take an optional link structure in accordance with the type of work and operate actuators individually if necessary, in an operating and control unit for a two- piece boom type work machine. SOLUTION: The attachment posturesθ1,θ2 of a first boom 3 and a second boom 4 are detected with potentiometers 24, 25, the angular speed dθ1 of the first boom is calculated by the operating part of a controller 30, the angular speed dθ2 of the second boom is calculated from the angular speed and the attachment posturesθ1,θ2 and the set value of a virtual fixed link selected by a setting device by the operating part, and the speed command V1b, V2b of the second boom cylinder 8 equivalent thereto are calculated by the operating part. A signal selection section outputs a normal lever speed command when a switch 27 is off, and outputs speed commands V1b, V2b calculated by the operating part when the switch 2 is on.
