The rotatable watch face supports a ring(57) having bosses(57a) which actuate two push buttons(60,67) so that they make contact with contact strip pairs(66,69) respectively. When the watch face is rotated in one direction, one of the push buttons(67) is actuated to short circuit one pair of contacts(69) and a pulse is sent to the watch microprocessor. On continuation of face rotation the first contact pair(69) remains short circuited and the second push button(60) is actuated to close the second contact pair (66), which sends a new pulse to the microprocessor. Continuation of rotation moves the push button(67) off the contacts(69) which again sends a pulse, whilst the contact pair(66) is still closed by the button(60). Further rotation of the watch face causes the button (60) to move off the contacts(66) and another pulse is sent to the microprocessor. Only when the rotation cycle has been completed is the microprocessor in a state to execute its function. Rotation of the face ring in the opposite direction produces the opposite effect. |
