The applicator (1) uses a cannula (2) to apply a liquid substance in droplet form, and in between applications its tip is placed in a container (4) of a solvent (6) or similar substance. The container lid (3) has a central aperture for a tubular holder (8) with side holes (10) and an inner spring-loaded plastic plug (13) with a rubber seal (14) for the cannula tip. Between uses the cannula tip is thrust into the tube against the seal and below the surface of the solvent.
