PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve tire tractive force on ice by containing a specific quantity of an additive selected from organic fibers selected from cellulose fibers and wood fibers and having the hydroxyl group on the surface and hollow or spherical ceramic grains having the silanol group on the surface. SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire having a tread of a rubber composition having the Shore A hardness within the range of about 45-65, preferably about 50-60, is formed. At least one kind of an additive about 2-30 phr or about 5-25 phr selected from at least one kind of organic fibers selected from cellulose fibers and wood fibers and having the hydroxyl group on the surface and hollow or spherical ceramic grains having the silanol group on the surface is contained. The spherical grains and the fibered additive are exposed on the surface of the tire tread, the surface area where the tire tread is kept in contact with ice is increased, and the tire tractive force on a frozen road is improved. |
