PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a member for an ink jet printer obtained by integrally combining a part of a plastic base with an elastic material layer. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a member for an ink jet printer comprises the step of combining a part of a plastic base with an elastic material layer by a molding method of any of a multicolor injection molding for sequentially melt injecting a material for the base and an elastic material made of a thermoplastic elastomer in a mold, and an insert molding for melt injecting the elastic material made of the elastomer after previously placing the base of a predetermined shape in the mold.
