PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coated paper capable of carrying out high-speed printing of a multicolor pattern with a gradation by forming a transparent coating layer containing fluororesin particles and a binder and protruding sites where the fluororesin particles are present from the surrounding sites thereof on a paper substrate. SOLUTION: This coated paper is obtained by coating a paper substrate containing cellulose fibers having >=3 mm average fiber length with a coating liquid containing fluororesin particles having >=1 and <=10μm volume-average particle diameter such as polytetrafluoroethylene resin and a binder such as a rosin-modified phenol resin according to an offset printing method or a gravure printing method and forming a transparent coating layer containing the fluororesin particles in an amount accounting for 5-70 wt.% of the coating layer and sites where the fluororesin particles are present protruding from the surrounding sites thereof.
