PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conveniently and precisely measure blood pressure without using heart potential electrodes. SOLUTION: In this device, a pulse wave detecting means 8 detects pulse waves caused by blood circulation in a human body from at least one part of the human body, a feature parameter computing means 11 computes feature parameters related to blood pressure in accordance with the detected pulse waves and a blood pressure computing means 16 computes blood pressure in accordance with the computed feature parameters. Only the pulse waves detected by the pulse wave detecting means 8 is used to measure the blood pressure, so that the blood pressure can be conveniently detected without causing issues in detecting heart potential as usual.
