PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject preservative by including iron gluconate as an active ingredient with on need of using any EDTA iron salt hampering solubilizing heavy metals and the efficacy of fertilizer for phosphoric acid. SOLUTION: This lawn leaf color preservative comprises at least one kind selected from iron sulfate, iron nitrate and iron chloride, and iron gluconate as active ingredients, wherein the iron of iron gluconate origin accounts for >=25 (pref. >=40) wt.% of the total iron, and this iron level will be enough. More specifically, this preservative is obtained by mixed reaction between one kind of compound such as iron sulface, iron nitrate, or iron chloride, another kind of compound such as acetic acid, citric acid or lactic acid, gluconic acid, slaked lime, and water followed by clear filtration into an aqueous solution with pH 2.0-4.5. This preservative is easier to handle in the case of feeding in a liquid state than in the form of powder. For liquid form, this preservative is pref. pH 2.0-4.5. When to be used, this preservative is in the form of an aqueous solution 50-300 ppm in iron content, its amount to be applied being 20-30 mg on an iron basis per m<2> of lawn. |
